You should call 999 when:

  • life is threatened
  • people are injured
  • crime is in progress
  • offenders are nearby

You should call 101 for:

  • general enquiries
  • non-urgent crime reporting
  • anti-social behaviour
  • your local community officer

Examples of non-urgent incidents are:

  • 'My bike has been stolen'
  • 'My car has been vandalised'
  • 'I think I’ve found some stolen property'
  • 'I was in a minor traffic collision yesterday'
  • 'I need to speak to my neighbourhood officer'

Calling from outside Kent

Overseas callers and callers from outside Kent can call us on 01622 690690.

112 – European emergency number for countries in the European Union. As a European citizen, you can call 112 to contact the emergency services.

Text the word 'police' then leave a space and write your message including what and where the problem is.

Send your text to 60066 (the Kent Police communications centre) and we will reply with a message. If you don't receive a message quickly, please try one of the other methods of communication on this page.

Visit us

You can visit any police station or contact point during opening times to report a non-urgent crime. At all police stations, you can request a private room to discuss issues of a sensitive nature.

You can request non-urgent information about the force and our services by completing our enquiries form. Your enquiry will be forwarded to the person best able to give you an answer.

Please note, you cannot report crime through this email function. This mailbox is not monitored 24 hours a day. If life is in danger or a crime is in progress, call 999 immediately.

  1. We want to know Name / Company name
  2. Vehicle model and registration
  3. Descriptions of caller/rogue trader

 Location, date and time you saw the fly tippers in action

 Descriptions of the people, vehicles and type of waste

 Take photos if you can but DO NOT approach the individuals
